Just in case people think i have misread the situation concerning the alleged Iranian involvement in supplying the Taleban with weapons when later these statements were made
US Defence Secretary Robert Gates says "substantial" quantities of Iranian weapons are flowing into Afghanistan.
"I would say, given the quantities we're seeing, it is difficult to believe it is associated with smuggling or the drug business, or that it's taking place without the knowledge of the Iranian Government," he said.
BUT he goes on to say he has not seen specific intelligence of Iranian involvement but the latest analysis is based "on the weapons themselves and the explosives that have been seized".
